Keta Sandlanders Half Term Report

March 6th, 2011 - Author: admin

Keta Sandlanders have now reached the halfway stage of our campaign in Ghana’s Volta Region Division 2. We are currently second in a tight table on 10 points having inflicted the only defeat so far on leaders Abor Comboni and remain hopeful of Middle League qualification.

As a reminder to fans we need to finish top of the group to qualify for Middle League which will see us play off against the winners of 14 other groups in the Volta Region for just 1 place in Ghana’s Division One.

Star performers so far include striker John Mensah (who has a couple of goals to his name), midfielders Mawuli and Rexford Armah and defender John Alphonse.

Long standing Sandlanders midfielder Tibo Agbesse has been training with the junior side of Accra Hearts of Oak this season and we wish him well if he is able to make the move permanent. Though they are having a bad season in the Premiership Hearts are one of Africa’s great sides (they won the Champions League in 2000) and this would be a big step up for Tibo.

Here is the latest league table. The second round will commence in a couple of weeks time and regular updates will be posted at
